Not the first time I go through this one, but here's my try!

perfect! there is indeed a debate about whether ひどり was in fact meant as ひでり or pehaps as ひとり…

かわいい、to hear your nephew read the poem and moreover this is a lovely poem. I have had this poem in English translation as a child, long before I even know it was written by Miyazawa Kenji. Thank you for this bonus. By the way, I'm still reading the previous pages of the short story, taking my time, getting lost in all the layers and indeed if you could read and understand it is full depth can I see it is beautifully written.

Thank you, I couldn't put all the hiragana in Kanji yet, but what a fun exercise. I wanted again to have fun reading so I went down a level but as bedtime reading, I really enjoy Kami Sama 神様 a novel written by Hiromi Kawakami, known by all of you, as guess. I'm not sure I'm even reading the original but it's was in this book you probably all know: "Read Real Japanese Fiction: Short Stories by Contemporary Writers". I bought it when I just started Japanese, but only now enjoy the first story. I mean not having to look every word up. If any of you want something easy, I can highly recommend this. Maybe to easy for some, but this book also has more challenging stories. You probably know this book already, but I wanted to share this information. I think the important thing is to keep on learning and keep going on.
