Hi 文助さん , thanks a lot for your hard work ! This past month I had been reading through your entries here. I came here from Youtube, and I kind of like how you approach learning, that "I just read" remark on one of your video... it makes me rethink my own approach to learning Japanese. Suffice to say that all this time I just follow textbooks and classes passively and not much experience nor learning beyond that.
I've been studying Japanese since around 2012 or 2013, on and off, and even went to a language school, and passed JLPT up to N2 level there. Now I'm back to my country, and am thinking of taking the N1, but sadly, I failed the last test. This is the first time I failed JLPT since I ever took all the previous lower levels. I don't think I'll be taking the test for a while though, at least not until I need it and I feel like I could pass it confidently when I took it.
Anyway, thanks to you, I'm starting to have the courage to look up texts by myself. I'm in the process of finishing 現代日本の開化 on 青空文庫。 This is a good site with lots of free materials. Are there similar websites that you know about that you can recommend to me?
Congratulations Busuke. That's a great achievement! 千里の道も一歩から? Also, thank you very much for recommending And for providing the books, great gifts for the new year! :) Let's all try our best for 2023. N1 here we come! Btw, are there others who have passed N2, and are interested in preparing for N1?
Hi Emma さん。 I took it last December and unfortunately failed. I kind of sitting on the fence whether I will be taking it again this year. That's not to say I'm trying to avoid it though. Fortunately, compared to other language tests, whether Japanese or otherwise, it's not so pricey to register. Otherwise I'll have more reservations about taking it again. Still, in order to pass it the next time, I'll need to prepare myself and read more essays and articles in order to get used to to the reading comprehension part, which is my weakness (scored a measly 15/60 points on that one).
Ray of Ligh 零門さん, Thank you for your message. I am thinking of taking it mid year, simply to keep myself on track. :) In any case, enjoy your Japanese readings

I've missed you, bunsuke San!
