己はなんでも度々この廊下に立っていたことがある。そしてその度毎に頭がぼんやりしていたかと思う。併しこう云う周囲に身を置いたという事丈は、はっきりしている。

Translation:
It seems I’ve stood in this hallway many times before. And I believe my mind was hazy every time. But the fact that I’ve been in these surroundings before is the only thing I remember distinctly.

I have a question regarding the first line - I don't understand the purpose of なんでも here. Is it to give it a sense of 'countless times'? Apologies if it is a silly question.
