Translation:
After relinquishing my position at the university and joining the Asahi Shinbun, the people I meet all have an expression of surprise on their face. Among them are those who ask why. Others praise me for making this big decision. I didn’t think quitting the university and becoming a newspaper man would be such a strange phenomenon.
Today, I used Aozora. Here’s the link:
中には何故だ取り組む効くものがある。大決断だ取り組む褒める物がある。
I feel I have been taught wrong by the Japanese language school. What I learnt in Japanese school was that ある comes after non-living things. But in this case ある comes after living beings instead of いる....
Why? 🤔
It is interesting how 辞 in the first sentence is like "to quit" and 辞 in the title is like "a speech".
