Hi, I'm a little confused on parts of the last sentence. When I see 行くのだと思うと, I think something along the lines of "when I think of going (I'm not able to stay calm...)" but that's not quite the same as "about to go." A native friend of mine said that they just kinda ignored 思うと and arrived at a similar translation to yours, but I don't think I see how. Does the presence of の perhaps make a difference? I'm also confused about だろうと支度. Is it just the quotative particle with 思う、など omitted? Any clarity is appreciated!
