今日はおれの誕生日だった、おれは十七歳になった、セヴンティーンだ。家族のものは父も母も兄も皆な、おれの誕生日に気がつかないか、気がつかないふりをしていた。それでおれも黙っていた。

Translation:

Today was my birthday, I turned 17, I’m a ‘Seventeen’. The members of my family, my dad, my mom, my older brother, all of them either didn’t notice it was my birthday, or they pretended they didn’t notice. So I also didn’t say anything.
