#227 石牟礼道子『椿の海の記』

Thanks for doing all these excerpts! I’ve been making my way through them recently and they’ve been a big help in getting used to reading. I wanted to ask: do the くるs in 擦れて来て or 染んでくる have a particular nuance? I ask because I just covered this in class and I’m still rather confused about it. For 擦れてきてI thought maybe it implied brushing back and forth while the 染んでくる had a nuance of “will begin to” but is this reading too much into it?
