最近は「夏バテ」する人がほとんどいない、と友人の医者が話していた。もちろん酷暑の折に食欲が減退し、体力がダウンすることはあるが、昔のようにまったくものを食べられず、寝こんでしまうような人は皆無に近いそうだ。

Translation:

A friend who is a doctor told me that, nowadays, almost nobody suffers from heat fatigue during the summer anymore. Of course, during periods of extreme heat, we might lose our appetite, and may feel less energetic, but there is almost nobody who cannot bring themselves to eat or who has to lie down the way people used to.
