#52 吉本ばなな「キッチン」
私がこの世でいちばん好きな場所は台所だと思う。
どこのでも、どんなのでも、それが台所であれば食事を作る場所であれば私はつらくない。できれば機能的でよく使い込んであるといいと思う。
Vocabulary:
吉本ばなな よしもとばなな Yoshimoto Banana (author, 1964-)
この世 このよ this world
場所 ばしょ place
台所 だいどころ kitchen
食事 しょくじ food, a meal
機能的 きのうてき functional
使い込む つかいこむ to break in, to use thoroughly
Grammar:
どこのでも vs. どんなのでも
The の in these two examples has a nominalizing function and replaces 台所. Put differently, if you were to write these segments out in their entirety, they would read: どこの台所でも、どんな台所でも.
Translation:
I think the place I love most in this world is the kitchen.
It doesn’t matter where, or what kind, as long as it’s a kitchen, a place where they prepare food, I feel at ease. Ideally, it should be functional and thoroughly broken in.

私の母も一番好きな場所は台所です。台所で家族と一緒に美味しい食べ物が作れます。台所からいい匂いがひろがている時、幸せです。いつも台所にいる時、子供の時を思い出しました。
