そのころ私の心は家の外にあった。昼間は大方眠っていた。眼がさめると外に出かけて行き、もし帰宅するとしたら夜中の一時とか二時とかに終電車でもどってきたが、そのまま泊ってくることも多かった。

Translation:
At that time, my heart was outside the home. I would be asleep for the better part of the day. When I’d wake up I would go out, and if I came home at all, I’d come back taking the last train at around 1 or 2 o’clock at night, but often I would just stay out and spend the night.
