仕事というのは、社会に空いた穴です。道に穴が空いていた。そのまま放っておくとみんなが転んで困るから、そこを埋めてみる。ともかく目の前の穴を埋める。それが仕事というものであって、自分に合った穴が空いているはずだなんて、ふざけたことを考えるんじゃない、と言いたくなります。

Work is a gap in society. There is a gap in the road. If you leave it people will hurt themselves, so you try to fill it. You somehow fill the gap in front of you. That’s what work is, so when people are set on finding a gap that suits them, I want to tell them to stop kidding themselves.
