#248　橘外男「雷嫌いの話」

びしょびしょと、鬱陶しい雨が降っている。雨垂れの音を聞きながら、私は、このペンを握っているのであるが、この文章が雑誌に載って、世の中へ出る時分には、カラッと晴れた暑い夏がやってくると思うと、私は、何ともいえぬ憂鬱な気持になってくる。

The drowsy rain has made everything soaking wet. I am holding my pen as I listen to the sound of dripping rain, when I realize that by the time this text is published in magazine and released into the world, the dry, bright hot summer will be near, a thought that overwhelms me with an indescribable sense of melancholy.
