#232　林芙美子「朝御飯」

倫敦で二ヶ月ばかり下宿住いをしたことがあるけれど、二ヶ月のあいだじゅう朝御飯が同じ献立だったのにはびっくりしてしまった。オートミール、ハムエッグス、ベーコン、紅茶、さすがに閉口してしまって、いまだにハムエッグスとベーコンを見ると胸がつかえそうになる時がある。

Translation:

I once stayed in a bed and breakfast in London for two months, but was stunned at the fact that, for the duration of my stay, breakfast was the same every single day. Oatmeal, ham and eggs, bacon, black tea, naturally I grew tired of it all, and even now, I sometimes still feel ill when I see ham and eggs with bacon.
