Vocabulary:
Hayashi Fubo (author, 1900-1935)
洩れる もれる to leak, to slip through
大入道 おおにゅうどう figure of a giant, bald monster (looks like a monk)
Translation:
It was a quiet autumn night.
The wind seemed to be getting stronger, and now and again there was a rustling noise near the closed shutters. It must be the falling blighted leaves of the persimmon tree in the garden. Every time the wind blew through the cracks and stirred the light of the lantern, the two human shadows on the wall swayed like a large giant.

the light/flame of the paperbox room lamp

洩れる I knew as 漏れる, which looks like water through tue roof. 曳 is the same as 引, meaning pull, like air drawn in through the wall gaps.
•••
揺る like a rocking chair
揺ぐ like shadows dancing to the fire
