#142　岩野泡鳴「耽溺」

僕は一夏を国府津の海岸に送ることになった。友人の紹介で、ある寺の一室を借りるつもりであったのだが、たずねて行って見ると、いろいろ取り込みのことがあって、この夏は客の世話が出来ないと言うので、またその住持の紹介を得て、素人の家に置いてもらうことになった。

Translation:

I ended up spending the summer on the coast of Kozu. I had planned on renting a room in a temple through a friend's referral, but when I visited the temple, they told me that they were facing difficulties and were therefore unable to receive guests during the summer, so in the end, I got another referral from the temple’s head priest and stayed at someone’s house.
