Enjoyed today's Miyazawa extract so went back in the archives to find more ^^"

What surprised me recently was how I found myself using JP dictionaries out of necessity... I thought I wouldn't be able to yet but a lot of JP-EN doesn't cover stuff I need

注文の多い - demanding, strict

すっかり - entirely, utterly

形(•かたち)をしている - to be in the form of, to be shaped like

担いで --> te form of 担ぐ•かたぐ - to carry (a gun)

疋•ひき - counter for small ૮ ・ ﻌ・ა? animals (small polar bears...)

つれて --> te form of 連れる•つける - to be accompanied by

だいぶ(山奥) - considerably (deep in the mountains)

in 木の葉 (foliage), 木の実, 木陰, 木霊, 木•こ

(木の葉)の(かさかさした)とこ - another example of の used as が in relative clause

云いながら - while saying (alt form of 言)

あるいて|おりました - Vて+おります can be a polite form (謙譲語) of Vて+いる

but 降りる•おりる also means to descend, which would make sense since they're in the mountains

あるいて is te form of 歩く and can mean "by walking" or "on foot"

so "descended by foot"

Haha. Wrote the above before checking translation and notes - so it was the polite form after all! Usually I do use the vocab list for my initial translation but this time I didn't ^^" so there are more notes ♪
